Stickers make the MOC!
They do, they really do. Nothing makes our Subway look more official than a real subway menu board! This is true for any MOC, custom stickers really put the finishing touches on things. However, I had the hardest time trying to find a good sticker company that could do what I needed. I asked around You Tube, but no one was willing to give up their secret sources for stickers! I won't do that to you, since you are kind enough to be reading my blog I will give you my sticker source! To create your own custom stickers click here . This company has a little ruler that allows you to measure your stickers. Which is necessary when trying to put stickers on tiny LEGO pieces. If anyone is interested in buying some of the leftover Subway stickers, I can sell one of every sticker used in my MOC for $3.99 plus $2.00 for shipping . The transaction would take place via Pay Pal, so both seller and buyer are protected!
You pay for the whole page, might as well get the extras! |

Our LEGO toilet (from our Subway).
So we spend a lot of our lives in the bathroom, either on or around toilets. So it's no mystery why there all kinds of LEGO toilets out there. Of course when we were building the back of the Subway we had to put one in, because that's what's there. There are a lot of different styles out there, ours is different. We use Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Bottom 15395 (BrickLink part #). We are going to improve our toilet in our next MOC. We took apart our Subway so you can see our toilet closer.
Showing off our custom bathroom sticker. |
Looks more like a toilet. Better than using a white pot in my opinion. |
Where's the wax ring, lol. |
The parts used. |
SORRY I didn't know you were in there! |
EWWWW that silver plate is for flushing dude! LOL |

How a MOC starts...
Hi everyone! It's been about 24 hours since I posted our first MOC we have already received some compliments, first from BrickManiac and then from my friend Eric. (Thanks Eric your kind words mean a lot!) Plus, I have finally received some long awaited parts from BrickLink! Now we can move forward and place 3 more orders this week. As promised I will be talking about different things about the Subway MOC this week. Today I'm gonna post some pics of the Subway MOC before I placed my first BrickLink order. This is the process I go through when I build a MOC. First I use pieces that we have to see what it will look like. If I'm happy and it looks good I go from there and order new parts that are the color I want.
Can you see the Subway? |
Tables look good, counter looks good. Look no oven. |
The soda machine half my creation, half from what I found on the internet. |
The Subway toilet (actually the focus of tomorrows blog, lol) designed differently because that's the pieces we had. |
Sub make station, bigger in the unfinished MOC, I made it smaller to conserve space. |
Sorry this is blurry, but you can really see old and new parts here. |
Really close to being done. |

Our Custom LEGO Subway Restaurant MOC
So we finally did it, completed our first of many MOCs. Our first one is a LEGO Subway restaurant. This was inspired by BricksforChris (at the time he was LEGOforChris) Little Caesars. I was going to copy the whole thing, then I relized I should do something original. I waned to make a Panera Bread, but it was just to large of a MOC for my first one. So one 6' inch sub later, I was sitting in a Subway and realized how samll they were. Then I started looking at everything as it was made of LEGO, and the rest is history. We will be blogging about the Subway all week to get a closer look at some parts i wasn't able to cover in our video.Speaking of the video here it is:

Speaking of space...
Talking about space yesterday reminded me of Riley and I first set we got to play with together. The Space moon buggy 3365. Mom one Christmas wanted to get me some more presents, knowing I used to be interested in LEGO. She bought me this set, it brought back a lot of good memories and sparked Riley's interest. Thanks MaMa! Here is our video review.

Back to Space! Rebuilding the Renegade!
It was only a matter of time before I got around to rebuilding my Renagade set 6954. This came out in 1987, and is easily one of my favorite space sets. I really love the Blacktron, maybe it's because they are the bad boys of space! Maybe I will try collecting more Blacktron sets. Once we finish this we will put up the video review. I do have 90 plus percent of the parts so one or two BrickLink orders later and it should be done. Here is what we have done so far.
Not to much more to do.. |
Did I hear someone say spaceship, spaceship, spaceship. |
My old instruction manual still intact. |
My Benny, and yes that crack in his helmet happened before the LEGO Movie. |
Speaking of Benny, Looks there is Lenny, Denny, Kenny, Jenny, Penny...and don't forget Tenny!? |

How we make LEGO Geese.
We always build what's around us! Every year we have a geese family that comes, lays it's eggs, raises the family and is gone before winter. This is really cool to see every year, and of course geese made it into our LEGO city. We made a short video how we make our LEGO geese.

LEGO Rototiller
When building a big MOC like we are in the process of., there comes a lot down time. Waiting for parts from BrickLink or just trying to design a room. It just happens, that why it's always good to design something with a lot of playability. So when there is downtime you can always be playing, plus playing with Riley helps me work out some of the kinks in my MOCs. I'm always grateful that Riley understands the difference in what she can destroy and what she shouldn't. But anyways! When we're bored of even playing with our MOCs we make mini ones. Things that are familiar to us. Well I think I may have come up with some thing original since there aren't any Google searches for a LEGO rototiller. I came up with this since we love to garden and we already have a LEGO garden. Gardening is one of our other hobbies. We spend almost as much time in the garden as we do in our LEGO room. So here is what I have come up with for my LEGO rototiller..........
Sometimes my rototiller pulls to the left. |
The silver round plate is the pully and the green and white is the gas tank and the pink is the gas cap. |

Welcome to our Blog!
Hello everyone and thank you for checking out our Blog! I'm DaDa (my real name is Patrick) and always with me is of course Riley. We are hardcore LEGO enthusiasts, we love playing, buying, selling and of course building LEGO! We started a YouTube channel about a year ago,(BuildingWithDaDaandRiley) although we have not gained too much attention from the LEGO community. I realized why, all we have really done is review a few of our new and old sets. Which everyone does. So what can we do to stick out in the LEGO community? This what I have decided, building and sharing some of our original custom MOCs.
Our first MOC is our Subway Sandwich Shop. Which I I'm only waiting for an employee and employee hats. Of course everyone has to be in uniform. LOL. I hope to post that one in the next week or two, depending how fast I get the parts from BrickLink. Of course we are on BrickLink as well, you can check out our store here. We are also underway of out next MOC a huge factory. Which some of the details will remain a secret for now.
Hopefully we will be able to give you a more expanded look of our MOCs and the MOC building process through our Blog. Thanks again for checking us out!
